One more summer day…
Today reminded me of summer. It reached 70 degrees by the middle of the day which isn’t THAT unusual for October here but since we have been having so much rain and wind lately it felt really special to feel the warm sun again. It was almost nice enough to recreate one of these days. Oh how I miss summer. I made the most of it by spending a good chunk of the day outside doing my errands. The first stop of the day was yoga. I met my friend Christina (who I met on the Farm) for the Hour of Power session. I was in the zone today and feeling some real good stretches (very much needed after my run yesterday). I ate half a PURE bar before and the remaining half after. This is probably one of the only bars that would qualify for my SFW (Sugar Free Week). Just fruit sugars
I walked to Coolidge Corner from yoga and did a quick shop at TJ’s. It turned into a lot more than I had planned for since I was on foot and already carrying my yoga mat and two towels. I also managed to pick up many heavy items such as canned pumpkin, almond milk (unsweetened), yogurt etc. It wouldn’t have been bad except that I had to go to the Farmer’s Market too since it was Thursday. It truly felt like summer walking around the stalls today (except for all the FALL produce!) I found some glorious honey crisp apples for $1.00/pound. I got about 4 pounds. Another mistake since I had about two miles to walk home at this point. My biceps will thank me later.
Nothing better than a fully stocked fridge!
Using the fresh lettuce and the newly purchased whole grain and flax wraps I created this masterpiece. Wild Pacific Coho Salmon with Cilantro and Chive Yogurt dip wrap!
I am so glad I thought of this combo because it was exactly what my tastebuds were craving. Full of protein and with plenty of crunch on the side (honey crisp and a dill pickle).
For dinner tonight I was interested in the pizza so I had some. I had two small slices with a whole lot of veggies on the side (probably had two times this much broccoli, carrots and celery in all).
And just for fun, here’s what I said “no” to tonight. On top of all these goodies there is the monthly load of ice cream/frozen yogurt in the freezer, Keebler Fudge Shop cookies, more candy corn, and left over cheesecake from last night.
Instead of all this junk I rewarded myself with a bowl of plain yogurt (with a scoop of homemade apple butter) topped with mixed berries (frozen). Deeeee-licious.

You could have a larabar too, right? I actually like those better than Pure bars.
What a deal on the honeycrisps!! And you got a free workout out of that purchase, total score
I see some beets in the fridge girlie – yummmm! Dessert looks fantastic, way to go with making a great choice – your willpower is phenomenal!
So jealous of all that produce goodness! Good work on the un-dessert, too.
It was pretty summer-like here today too–loves it!
SO jealous of that Honeycrisp price!
wow that is warm for the east coast! hopefully it will stay warm for halloween so the kiddies don’t have to put coats on over their costumes!
I loooove mixing yogurt with frozen berries!! And hmm, I have heard of that TJ’s dip through the blog world and am dying to try it!! That wrap sounds delicious. I’ll have to make something similar next time i’m home
Your lunch wrap looks awesome. There is nothing better than a fully stocked fridge filled with fresh fruits and vegetables.
Sounds like a fun “summer” day, and congrats on all that sugary “food” you passed up.
[...] go out and we might stay in. I am not super hungry because I had a late lunch (exactly the same as yesterday). I am catching up on some Thursday night T.V. that I wasn’t able to watch [...]
Thanks for including what you didn’t eat – I find that that’s the hardest part, turning down the sweets! it’s not always that tough to create a healthy entree, but avoiding the sweets always is!
ps larabars are also a bar that has no added sugar!
